1963 SS. Belle trapped in the ice.

The loveliest steamer on the Severn was the Belle, built on the Thames in 1894 and sailed round Lands End by the Evertons, Proprietors and Boat Builders.
This picture was taken in 1963 when the ice was 2ft 2ins thick.
In 1980 it was taken by road to Kew and beutifully restored. Belle is now available for hire from the Maidenhead Steam Co., which is a sad loss to Worcester. Max.
