The Queen visits Henwick Station.
The Queen visits Henwick Station or as sometimes called “Henwick Halt”.
The Usher on the right is Mr Cyril Beechy who was also the Worcester City Water Inspector at Worcester Waterworks.
Henwick Station had a coal yard adjacent, that is now closed, blocks of flats, affordible homes and a doctors surgery have now been built on the site.

I think this photo was taken on 27th April 1957 when the Queen visited Malvern to rename TRE to RRE
I was very young at the time but my recollection is that the Royal Train came up from London with two immaualte steam engines on board.
It went to Henwick where the royal party got off and presumably went somewhere in worcester by car.
The local schools were closed and we were given a flag to wave and told to stand on the line of her car route through Malvern.
The Royal Train was pulled from Henwick back to Shrub Hill for servicing and then ran empty to Malvern where it stood in Malvern Link station until time for the Royal Party to return to London.

View to the south west, the building on the left is the signal box, level crossing gates were operated by hand from here.
The left line is Paddington to Hereford and right is Hereford to Birmingham.

A coal yard and weighbridge was situated here for many years, the last business was a sand and gravel merchant.
The line is to the right behind fence. This area has now been developed, there is a doctors surgery and blocks of flats.
Lapal Close is in the background.
