Jeffery Beswicks Grandfather owned the Sunbury Belle and the Duchess Doreen.
The Sunbury Belle had to be transported by road from the Thames at London to the docks at Gloucester,where it was lowered into the Severn to take up duties on the Severn at Worcester. The whole process only cost £50.
A piece of coal please.
During the coal strike, all passengers supplied a lump of coal to help keep the steamer in action.
